I really enjoyed the brief time that I spent living on the west coast - particularly the time I spent in Canada.  It seems that, in my experience, brilliant events like these happen much more frequently.  Definitely one of the most enjoyable aspects of my time on that side of the country!

The secret of hapiness is this: let your interests be as wide as possible, and let your reactions to the things and persons that interest you be as far as possible friendly rather than hostile.
British philosopher Bertrand Russell, via the ever-adventurous and open minds at Best Made. I try to live by this idea in music and in life, and it is a perennial source of disappointment to me that it is so anathema to the orchestea business. (via jasonweinberger)
